A prospective member must be in good standing in the community and be a business owner, an executive, manage their own time, or be in a managerial position to be eligible for membership.

To join, you must have a sponsor. Your sponsor will invite you to a lunch meeting where you can meet other Rotarians and experience a Rotary meeting. If you do not currently know any Rotarians, please contact the VP of Membership for help securing a sponsor.

Your sponsor will ask you to complete a member application and return it, along with the initiation fee, to the Rotary Club of Denver office. You will be notified by email once the office receives your application. Your application is then submitted to the Membership Committee for review, and your name is shared with all members in our weekly newsletter. If the Membership Committee does not receive any objections, your application is then submitted to the board of directors for approval at the next scheduled meeting.

You are notified immediately once your membership is approved. Your sponsor will introduce you to club members during the next regular Thursday club lunch meeting that works for you both. At this meeting, you will receive a new member packet with information about the club, as well as your name badge.

Absolutely! We are committed to helping new members become fully acquainted with the Rotary organization and your fellow members. Our club’s new member orientation takes place in three parts:

1. Evening social gathering (with your spouse/partner, if desired) where you meet other new members

2. Personal meeting with an ambassador, or your sponsor, to help you understand club operations and expectations and to get engaged in our club’s programs/committees

3. Meeting with a past president or other club leadership

4. Participation in a one hour Club orientation presentation, held prior to a regular Thursday luncheon

Active Members of Rotary Club of Denver must pay an initiation fee and quarterly dues, which include dues to our Rotary district, Rotary International and Club 31. Because members are expected to attend weekly club meetings, the cost of lunches is included in membership dues. In addition, each member is encouraged to contribute a minimum of $100 each year to both the Denver Rotary Club Foundation and The Rotary Foundation. We ask that members also support our annual fundraiser with their time, silent auction donations and/or by purchasing an event ticket. In August, members may get involved in our annual peach sale by helping on pick-up day or by selling/purchasing boxes of peaches.

Rotary expects that you attend at least 50% of scheduled meetings. Attendance at regularly scheduled committee meetings, board meetings, new member orientations, club social functions all count as meetings.

Prospective members can be turned down because the membership committee or the board of directors believes that he/she does not meet the qualifications for membership. If this happens, the club returns initiation fees to the prospective member.
